From father to son, uncle to nephew, and grandfather to grandson, ancient stories are handed down from generation to generation. The teacher may tell the same story many times so the listener understands the significance of each detail. Oral history is very important because these stories are kept with the people. The young must go to the elders to learn these stories so they are not lost.
